With lowering Carbon Footprints and Climate Change being a hot topic right now many might be concerned or have questions about Air Conditioning and its effect on Climate Change.
As you might know Air Conditioning systems run on refrigerant. You may have heard of R22, R407C and R410A. These are all Fluorinated gases that have a high GWP (Global Warming Potential). However, a new player to the Refrigerant world has now entered the game – R32.
R32 has been around commercially for a good few years and has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 675. This has a 60% reduction to the impact on the environment compared to its predecessor R410A which was 2088.
On top of this, AC systems that use R32 can run on a smaller volume of refrigerant, further reducing the impact this new refrigerant has on the environment compared to R410A.
Coupling these benefits with using R32 on manufacturers latest products thus offering greater energy savings and reducing overall running costs for the end users.
Overall the introduction of R32 to the Air Conditioning world is a welcome change in bringing down carbon footprints.
